     Currently Tom is the only full time instructor but he has other experienced instructors that are available to work with him on a part-time basis. Information on the student is shared and this assures that even if he is not available a students lesson plan can continue on track.

  Tom has been flying for 30 years and teaching for nearly 20.  He started flying in sailplanes in 1974 and powered flight at Chino, California in 1979.  Over all those years, he has acquired:
  Acquired over 5,600 hours of piloting time in both single and multi-engine aircraft.
  Crossed the entire United States in his Skyhawk three times and totals over 2,900 hours of cross country pilot-in-command time .
  Has flown most of his hours in the two most complex airspace areas of the country, Southern California and the Eastern areas including Boston, New York, and Washington DC .
  Has over 600 hrs of night and 300 hrs of instrument time .
Has over 1,700 hrs of instruction time, both Primary and Instrument in both Cessnas and Pipers.

 

  He has time in many types of high and low wing single-engine airplanes including a Cessna 421B, Columbia 400, Turbo 206, 210, 182, T182RG, V35, PA181, PA140 and Super Cub. From 2004 to 2007, Tom flew a corporate Turbo 206 and Columbia 400 for a New Jersey based company on flights throughout the eastern half of the US, flying over 1,300 hours in that period.

    He also spent 25 years in field sales positions with various companies covering major areas of the US in the Southwest and East Coast. In this position, he has used his aircraft to travel to sales calls from Maine to Nashville to Miami and from San Diego to Phoenix to Fresno and all points in between.

    His hobbies are historic aviation, photography, golf, fishing, camping, music and reading. He is currently based at Sky Manor Airport in Hunterdon County, New Jersey and owns Sky Beckons Aviation. He lives in Lawrence Township, New Jersey and is married to JoAnn.

    His wife JoAnn who manages Sky Beckons Aviation has soloed, passed her written test and just completed her long cross-country and is well on her way to acquiring a Private Pilot license.
